What to Expect: Explore the mountains, creeks and trails of the Okanagan on a friendly Icelandic horse Guest enjoy there stay situated at the doorstep of the Canadian wilderness. Endless trails treat horse and rider to panoramic views and a fast variety of local flora and wildlife provide changing scenery depending on the season of your visit Bring your camera, your love of the outdoors, and a sense of adventure! Rides will be 4 to 5 hours daily. Our experience is that guests, after the instructions in the arena and oval track, riders with little experience are confident and ready for the trail rides. ITINERARY
Sunday Late afternoon arrival. You will settle in your luxury cabin, relax and meet the host and other guests during happy hour with a nice glass of wine and coffeeMonday After a good nights sleep and a lovely breakfast, we will start with an introduction to the Icelandic Horses. A brief evaluation and assignment of horses is followed by a short riding instructions in the arena, coffee and cake and bond more with your horse on the oval track. Lunch break and off for the afternoon ride in the resorts attractive forest. Teusday A serious day of riding into the exciting backcountry wilderness with a great chance to encounter Canadian wildlife. Not uncommon to see coyote, deer, bear, baldheaded eagle, and grouse. Lunch will be a trail picnic. Coming home the hot tub awaits you to relax in. Wednesday Today will be a gentle riding day. We will be back for a nice lunch at the resort. In the afternoon you will have time to stay at the resort to relax in the sauna or hot tub, hike, or do one of the many fascinating activities possible in this area. At 7:30 pm we meet you again for a real Canadian barbecue at the resort.Thursday Start the day with a nice hardy breakfast. After breakfast we ride through the Canadian forest to the top of the mountain with a stunning view overlooking the wide open back country valley, where we have a great tasty and fun picnic lunch, then after a few more hours of descend we finish our ride with a nice tolt.Friday On this day you will ride your favorite Icelandic horse on the most beautiful ride of all on a high wilderness trail that gives you a stunning view of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding area. Our last lunch dinner together, around 2 - 3 pm. Relax in the sauna or hot tub before dinner, our Guests favorite Canadian BBQ cedar planked wild salmon.Sunday After breakfast a serious day of riding into the exciting backcountry wilderness with a great chance to encounter Canadian wildlife. Not uncommon to see coyote, deer, bear, baldheaded eagle, and grouse depending on the season. Lunch will be a trail picnic. . Around three o'clock we are back and say our good byes or you may book for the wilderness ride as well.Two-Day Schooling or introduction to the Icelandic Horse Weekends by request for groups, have to be specially booked Two-Day Schooling is for horse owners. You have the option of using your own horses, or we'll provide them for you. This program can be customized to fit your specific needs. During the two-day program, you can focus on improving your riding capabilities, learn techniques in starting young horses, and hone your competitive skills. We will teach you how to show and ride your horse for evaluation and end the weekend with a fun cross-country ride. Instructor Arnold Faber has been training and working with Icelandic horses for more than 40 years. The lessons will be held in the arena and oval track.
